One of the main reasons I picked an earbud with Bluetooth technology over wired is that I love my mobility. I should say it ultimately depends on one’s lifestyle, and some say wired sets have a slight edge in sound quality, but being sporty any form of restraint comes across as annoying. Wires, cables, test my patience. It’s becoming a pet peeve. Imagine when you’re jogging and your hands keep accidentally catching the wires suspended just inches in front of you and you would have to re-arrange all over again. Talk about perennial loss of focus when you are trying to beat a personal running time. Even at work or casual outings I cannot seem to miss those wires getting entangled with my bag, eye glasses, ball pen tucked at my side pocket. If you can relate to this and want to know which Bluetooth earbud to purchase, here is my top products list:
1. Sony SBH80
Sony SBH80- Numero uno. My number one pick. When you mention the Sony brand the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind is quality. It has the best features and sound quality working together harmoniously for a wonderful experience.
The comfort of this earbuds is stable with it’s behind the ear fit. You would have no qualm with it whatsoever in the gym about falling off or reduced comfort. It just sticks nicely with its soft silicon tip, and the make up is very light. Please take your time working out as the battery life at one charge lasts around six hours
2. JayBird X2
JayBird X2- While Sony SBH80 is the best for general use, this medal specializes in sport with its in-ear monitor design. It seals right in and doesn’t loosen even as you sweat. The controls are accessible by remote. The sound is crisp; bass is better than the first model.
Ironically, its durability is a bit suspect as with its predecessor.
3. Jabra Sport Pace Wireless
Jabra Sport Pace Wireless- The over-ear hooks promises stability but it may not be for everyone. The sound is good considering it has in-ear design. It has a detailed output in high, mid, and low presence.
4. Phiaton BT 220 NC
Phiaton BT 220 NC- Noisy background? Now listen to music in PEACE! This product has the best noise cancelling function in Bluetooth earbuds category. It is bigger in size so that could mean better fit for you, or, maybe a little less comfortable. Its durability is way up there for general day-to-day use. Just don’t abuse.
Sound quality is pretty balanced, so there’s nothing to dislike.
5. Sol Republic Shadow
Sol Republic Shadow- Water resistant, but less sporty for me because it is quite heavier than the usual Bluetooth earbuds (which are supposed to be heavier). It’s a little less expensive and less impressive in sound quality but it’s good enough. They also offer free tip replacement for this model for life. That’s cool.
6. MEE Audio X7
MEE Audio X7- Bigger price, bigger value. This one has had a lot improvements from its predecessor. Run, work the bag, do push ups… no worries. Its comfy fit won’t buck.
It has a strong bass sound, in fact, sometimes it can be too strong that it overlaps with other audio qualities. It’s great with dance music with a bit of boom. If you like your music heavy this is the one for you.
7. LG Electronics Tone Pro HBS-760
LG Electronics Tone Pro HBS-760- This model is affordable, and with its fair price comes very good sound quality (just a notch below premium models). Materials used are average. Light, but a bit low in durability. Looks plasticky.
8. Brainwavz Blu-100
Brainwavz Blu-100 First Bluetooth model of the brand that gives you a good deal. It offers a nice sound isolation, lots of tech functions but the downside to it is its fit. After a while it kind of slips off gradually. But it could really work well for others as we all have different ear sizes. This has a sturdy build; the sound quality is good enough to appeasing your music needs.
9. AYL QY8
AYL QY8- If money is a bit of an issue here, this model will give you more than what you’d expect from its price. You will be pleasantly surprised with it. This one is made of plastic but it doesn’t look cheap. Its ear-wings provide stability. It’s good for sport with an above average sound and features you wouldn’t expect from its price range.
MPOW – The ergonomic design of this model makes it look expensive but this is actually budget friendly. The sound cannot be compared to its expensive peers but it is surprisingly clear. It has a crisp quality but it won’t sound irritating during long usage. They are comfortable and best for running as it gives you a good seal. It will impress you with its 8-hour battery life.
